Connecting the work behind an IT service
The direction is to connect work that can otherwise sit in separate tools: monitoring, backup, endpoint information, patching, remote support and vulnerability information.
My background in infrastructure and backup is part of the reason this interests me. I want to work on the relationship between the information a provider can see and the practical action it needs to take.
Work explored so far
My work has explored protecting files and information held in online services, understanding the computers a provider looks after, and connecting that information to maintenance and remote support.
I’m also exploring different ways a provider could run the service, whether hosted for them or operated in their own environment.
What the project is aiming for
The aim is a more connected way to understand and operate a managed environment. I’m exploring how monitoring, backup and endpoint information can help a provider decide what action to take.
