Who is responsible
This personal website is operated by Steinthor Kristinsson. For a question about your information, use the contact form, select “A question or a hello” and identify it as a privacy request.
What you provide
The contact form collects your name, email address, selected topic, message and consent. A reference and submission time are generated when the message is saved. These fields are needed to submit and handle your message. Please leave out identity documents, bank details, medical information and other sensitive records.
Why it is used
Your details are used to read your message, understand the question and respond to you. This handling is based on your consent. You can withdraw consent using the contact form, without affecting processing already carried out. Your message does not create a marketing subscription, and the information is not sold.
Where it is stored
Messages are saved in a private database on this website’s server, outside the public website files. Access is limited to the operator and authorised server administration. There is no public page for reading messages. The form does not send its contents to a third-party form service or analytics provider.
Network addresses are held temporarily in server memory to limit repeated submissions; they are not saved with your message. Website and gateway infrastructure may generate technical access records.
How long it is kept
Initial messages are automatically removed from the website’s database after 90 days. If further work is agreed, handling of the ongoing records is addressed separately. Infrastructure backups and access records are separate from the initial-message database.
Your choices
You can request access, correction or deletion of your message information. Depending on the circumstances, you may also request restriction or portability, or object to processing. Include your message reference if available. Identity may need to be checked before a request can be fulfilled.
You can also contact the Irish Data Protection Commission about a data-protection concern.
A simple website
This site uses locally hosted Umami analytics to count page views and understand which pages are visited. Analytics do not use cookies or record sessions. They respect your browser’s Do Not Track setting and exclude URL query strings and fragments. Contact form contents are not sent to analytics. This site does not set advertising cookies or store message drafts in your browser. The portrait, illustrations and fonts are served with the website. Project links lead to separate websites with their own terms and privacy practices.
